So earlier tonight my roommate Heather and I began discussing desserts and it came to our attention that we really, really, REALLY wanted cake then we came to brownies and were like "OMG I want brownies!" Sadly we were being super lazy and couldn't be bothered to even leave the couch to go refill our glasses of water. So Heather comes up with the idea of texting Calvin the roommate, who was in his room at the time, to ask him to see if he would go on a quest to to obtain the precious brownies. He comes out and actually says yes! We were both surprised and very VERY happy and declared that he was the BEST ROOMMATE EVER. He was willing to go drive to the market to fulfill our wishes and get our fat asses some brownies after he went to go work out at the gym for like 3 hours. (yeah we didn't change our minds about wanting brownies even in the light of such extreme healthiness and activeness) So we got and gobbled down awesome brownie bites and it was DELICIOUS. I was quite happy and content. yumm
AND I found a recipe for horchata. So I am going to try that out ASAP because horchata is amazing. YAY. ANDDD agua frescas. Jeez I am in Mexican drink heaven right now. IT's amazing
Umm I was gonna write about something else besides food and the roommate adventures. Oh! We were belting out power ballads (the Inglesias and 98 degrees etc) and doing interpretive dance. It's nice just being able to hang out with roommates and not have to worry about the cleanliness or offending their feelings. I think my apartment experience will be much better this quarter.
I had a Mexican inspired casserole today because I still have not gone to the market so I have no fresh produce. haha so it was tortillas layered with black beans, corn, tomatoes and cheese. It was surprisingly delicious and crispy. I will have to remember it for lazy meals later. Seriously though casseroles are total lazy food throw a bunch of things together, mix and throw in an oven for half an hour. Minimal clean up too! I'll have to start taking pictures of what I create but uh that takes effort and at this stage in the blog that is wayyy too advanced. But I'll get there...eventually.
Calvin the roommate brought up an interesting point today. He said that he didn't know people that spent as much time on their computers as me and Heather. But uh, that's what college kids do. Spend time on their computer and do nothing productive. So he's the weird one in my book because all he does on the internet is just watch TV.
Letter writing day will be Thursday! Because I have no class. hurray!
